For new cameras, check Amazon and Abe’s of Maine.
For used cameras, Ebay and Craig’s List. But buyer beware. Make sure the seller has a solid reputation and beware auctions with no other bidders or the are closing at prices “too good to be true”. Only pay by Paypal on Ebay and never, ever by money order or Western Union.

My budget is about £500, i’d rather spend below that though.
I’m starting photography in about 2 weeks and i need a really good camera for it, so preferably about 14 mega pixel or something like that would do.

When you’re talking about dSLR cameras don’t be fooled by what we call the mega pixel myth. That is that more is always better. That’s not true. Any SLR camera, even at 6mp will out shoot any P&S all day long.
I’d recommend what I own. The Rebel 1000D for its superb photos and a solid build.

Question by eternicide: How to temporarily waterproof a high end digital SLR Camera for very cheap or free?
I Have a very expensive camera, and I want to take it on a jetski with me at lake powell. Im worried about it getting wet or damaged. What is the best way to waterproof it for very cheap or free? I was thinking plastic wrap or plastic bags, but I wouldnt be able to acess the controls that way. Anyone have any ideas?

Don’t try any cheap ways to do this, that’s way too nice of a camera to chance it with. I would look into whether there are waterproof cases available for the specific camera you have. Don’t use anything other than that. Many camera companies do sell these for their cameras, or third party companies might make one that works with that model.
