Anyone know of any good Digital SLR cameras for beginners?

Question by : Anyone know of any good Digital SLR cameras for beginners?
Long story short, I’ve been looking into getting a new camera later into the year. I was set on a Canon SX30 is earlier, which isn’t an DSLR camera, but I thought it would be pretty decent because of the super zoom and all of the features that it came with. I’ve heard a lot of great reviews, and for the price, it should be a pretty good deal. But lately, I’ve been interested in getting a DSLR camera. I’ve never done much photography and I’d be getting a new camera for the purposes of recording HD videos, but I’d also probably have a knack for photography if I got a new camera. I’ve been looking at the Nikon – D3100 14.2-Megapixel Digital SLR Camera and the Canon – EOS Digital Rebel T3 12.2-Megapixel Digital SLR Camera. Both seem to have pretty good reviews and Nikon and Canon are reliable. But I’d like to ask if anyone knew of any other cameras that are in a reasonable price range and have good quality. And if you have any advice about getting additional things when buying the camera, that’d be great, too. Thanks in advance. :)

Any dSLR is good for a beginner, since no matter what you pay for it, they all work the same, whether you pay $ 700 for the fine Nikon D3100 (which by the way has a built-in user guide) or the $ 43,000 Hasselblad H4D.

Here is how all fully adjustable cameras work. It is a balancing act using the cameras ISO, shutter speed and lens aperture settings to produce the best possible exposure.

Q&A: how to pick a SLR camera for beginners?

Question by Karen F: how to pick a SLR camera for beginners?
I’d like to get a SLR camera but i’m a little confused on what to get.
Since is my first SLR i don’t really want to spend a whole bunch of money on it…
I’m pretty much trying to decide between a Nikon D40 and
Canon Rebel XS.
Reading reviews online…it seems like buying a Nikon has a disadvantage in the future for lens options, is that really a big problem?

Also, should live view be a part of my consideration? I think having a live view is nice…does it hurt to not have one? (since D40 doesn’t seem to have live view)

I would like to be able to take photos in low light…and probably quite a bit a portraits. Any camera/lens suggestions base on this?

Thank you
D40 only has about 6 mp…is that a big problem?

Go for the Nikon D40 i mean the cannon is nice but i have always liked nikon because it just seems easy-er to get used to and easy-er controls.. live view in my opinion is lame like to see it on the viewfinder like that’s cool but like will you really use it… go with nikon they have great customer service i am sure you will love your D40 or D40X

Good film SLR camera for a beginner?

Question by : Good film SLR camera for a beginner?
I’m going to London and Paris this spring, and I’m interested in taking some film photographs when I’m there. I’ve heard nothing but bad reviews about the toy film cameras that you can buy, and I was looking for some possible options for a solid beginners film SLR camera, and maybe some tips to start using it! Thanks!

That’s correct, the toys are just toys.

Canon and Nikon make excellent 35mm cameras. But since most on line sites that I’ve seen no longer carry them, shop a good local camera store. They can help you more than we can.
